The Qatar Volleyball Association will provide Mikasa playing kit to its various teams in the upcoming international events.
QVA President Ali Ghanim al Kuwari and Sportivo CEO Uros Stanic signed the Mikasa kits sponsorship agreement at the QVA headquarters in Doha on Sunday.
Under the deal, which will last four years, the senior, junior and youth teams of Qatar will use the Mikasa playing kits.
The agreement also covers the beach volleyball senior team. Sportivo made Olympian Cherif Younnouse brand ambassador for the Mikasa products in Qatar.
QVA head Kuwari said about the deal, “This is a prestigious deal for us. Sportivo offered the deal for four years and we readily agreed to it as the Mikasa products are FIVB approved and quite popular in the world.
“We’re very happy with the deal. It is a long-term deal and it will provide kits for our various teams for four years.
“Earlier, they started the negotiations with us for our beach volleyball team. But later, we discussed with them for our association senior, junior and youth volleyball teams, to which they agreed.
“We’re delighted with the contract. We saw the Mikasa products and we’ll try to push them for our clubs as well. I think El Jaish have already started using their kits. We’ll see how we can go about it,” added Kuwari.
Sportivo CEO Stanic said, “We’re honoured to be partner with the QVA for its national teams. We’ll also sponsor the Qatari beach volleyball team.
“We’ll try to do our best to make the QVA happy with our products. We’ve also made beach volleyball Olympian Cherif as our brand ambassador and we’ll use this opportunity to increase our base in the Qatari market.
“Also, we’re eyeing the club teams here. Hopefully, we’ll be able to strike deals with them as well.”
Younnouse, who was also present on the occasion, said, “I’m very happy to be using the Mikasa products through the deal with Sportivo. The first year, I hope, will be crucial for us and we’ll try our best to get good results.
“We’ve some big events coming up this season. Just like the last year, when we won a FIVB World Tour event and qualified for the Rio Olympics, I hope this year will also be equally successful for us.
“We’ve the Asian championship and World championship lined up. We hope to do well and keep the Qatar flag flying high,” added Younnouse.
